Boat Registrations Down

According to the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), boat registrations were down by 1.5 percent in 2006, the most recent year for which numbers are available. There were 12.7 million registered boats at the end of 2006, compared to 13 million in 2005. The top three states for boats were Florida, California, and Minnesota, while the Great Lakes region accounted for the greatest number of registrations.
