Penta Press Cup

SAIL’s Josh Adams and Bill Springer edged out the competition to take home the Volvo Penta Press Cup at this year’s Sabre Yachts dealer meeting. The match race, sailed in two 36-foot Sabre Spirits, took place June 4 at the Boston Yacht Club in Marblehead, MA, during Sabre’s annual dealer meeting. The SAIL crew rotated periodically and included the Spirit’s designer, Jim Taylor, “Bump” Wilcox, and Garth Hitchens. They faced stiff competition from the staff of Cruising World, Sailing World, and Sailing magazines, but managed a narrow victory, winning two out of three races. The fun, low-key event was “great for testing the new boat,” Adams said. Katlyn McKim
